In most Windows applications, the secret to quick word processing is right at your finger tips. Pressing certain keys on your keyboard at the same time you press the Control key will accomplish common functions. Use these shortcuts to quickly make edits or complete tasks in a document.
Navigation
Press [ALT] + [TAB] = Toggle between open applications
[CTRL] + Esc = Opens the Window's "Start" bar
[CTRL] + 'Home' / 'End' = Go to the top / bottom of the page
[CTRL] + right/left arrow = Jump to beginning of next / current word.
General Text Commands
[CTRL] + [B] = Bold
[CTRL] + [ i ] = Italics
[CTRL] + [U] = Underline
Making a selection
[SHIFT] + left/right arrow = select next character / previous character
[CTRL] + [A] = Select All (This doesn't work in Lotus WordPro, but does work in Lotus Notes)
[CTRL] + [SHIFT] + arrows = Select entire words
[SHIFT] + [End] or [Home] = select text to end/beginning of current line
[SHIFT] + down/up arrow = select text to end/beginning of current line and moves focus to NEXT/PREVIOUS line.
Moving text and objects
[CTRL] + [C] = Copy
[CTRL] + [V] = Paste
[CTRL] + [X] = Cut
Tasks
Press F1 to access Help - works almost everywhere
Use 'esc' or 'return' button FIRST, when you want to close windows or accept things... Often that is enough.
[SHIFT] + F10 = show shortcut menu
[CTRL] + [F] = find and replace.
[CTRL] + [G] (go and find): Find special words on the screen you are working with
[CTRL] + [P] = Print
[CTRL] + [S] = Save
[CTRL] + [Z] = Undo the last action. (This is particularly helpful if you mistakenly delete, move or cut information.)
